My name is Monika Potorska. I have been working in interior design for 15 years, and for the past 5 years I have been dividing my life between Poland and Tenerife, which provides me with a constant source of inspiration and a sense of distance from the fast pace of the continent.
My journey with design began at the Fine Arts High School in Gdynia-Orłowo, and I later continued my artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. I also studied at the Koszalin University of Technology and at IAV in Orléans, France. I entered the professional world as a graphic designer, developed my skills in fashion and knitwear design, and eventually found my true passion in interior design – including work at Studio 1do1. Today, I run my own brand, Studio Potorska. I was previously the owner of Limo Design and a partner at GSG Studio.
The Studio Potorska portfolio includes both private residential projects and commercial spaces – restaurants, pastry shops, beauty and hair salons, offices, and cultural institutions. We have also developed standardized concepts for Ergo Hestia branches and retail layouts for brands such as Coccodrillo, 5.10.15, Ziaja and Estotiq, as well as exhibition designs for MIIWS and the Amber Museum in Malbork.
Recently, I have also been focusing on repeatable residential interior concepts and shared spaces for developers in the Tricity area and Warsaw. This broad and diverse experience allows me to design across different contexts and take on new challenges, guided by a conscious design methodology and balancing business goals, personal values, and market needs.
I follow global trends, participate in trade fairs, exhibitions, and industry events, and dedicate my travels to architecture and design—often choosing to experience places like a local in order to gain a different perspective. Thanks to this, and by stepping away from working solely “at the desk,” my approach to design has evolved. I seek timeless solutions that draw from both the place in which they are created and the people they are created with.
The greatest satisfaction for me comes from designing residential interiors—spaces that are close to people and created with them. Spaces where we use “intelligent” furniture, vintage elements, and natural materials, where aesthetic choices are made consciously and the design process itself becomes something to enjoy. This combination of honesty, functionality, and individual character is what makes each interior truly unique.
